The Alex Merck Music group (AMM) was founded in 1992 to get music heard that deserves a broad, but quality conscious audience. We do not release albums that would only appeal to a few thousand people worldwide, but we also do not release music that sounds like what you constantly hear on the most popular radio stations.
Most of our music is Jazz or based on Jazz - and those albums can
be found on Jazzline (acoustic jazz, firmly rooted
in the traditions of jazz improvisation and rhythms of latin and
swing base) and Lipstick (electronic or electric
instruments with rhythms based on funk, groove, rock, drum&bass
etc.)
On Barracuda you will find interesting pop, rock and soul music.
For anyone new to jazz and soul, we now have an overview of rhythmic jazz styles here, which gives the main names and directions to the music styles including acid-jazz, hip-hop jazz, soul, fusion, jazz-rock etc. Click here to get it!

europeans and international groups.

main artists include Carola Grey, Tony Lakatos, Dieter Ilg
Trio , Charlie Mariano and dutch singer Masha
Bijlsma.
BARRACUDA
is our youngest label, founded in fall of 1996. It features soul,
R&B, rock and world-pop with artists and groups
including Ray Gaskins, Soul
Immigrants, Prime Crime,Anita Carmichael, Wizards

Current CD-price (at the end of 1999):
Europe: DM 34.80 (or Euro 18.00) including sales tax and shipping for fax-orders through the form on this website or e-mail orders.
USA: US-$ 16.00 plus US-$ 12.00 per order for shipping and packaging. (if you are living in the USA or South America, it might be better to order our albums from amazon.com, Barnes&Noble or other US-online retailers.
We also accept all major credit cards (except Discovery, which some Americans have).
Since we know that quite a few music stores today do not have most CDs in their store, you can order our albums directly. We do not want to compete with good music retail stores - but if they do not have our albums, they can not sell them. This means they are earning even less (most CD-retailers constantly complain about how bad sales are) .. and are hurting you and us too. Therefore we decided to start our own mail-order operation.
