Jim McNeely - East Coast Blowout
(LIP 8907-2 in the USA, LIP 89007-2 anywhere else in the world)
One of the top jazz pianists and keyboardists in Manhattan, Jim McNeely is also a very interesting composer and arranger. In 1991 he was commissioned by german radio station WDR to write a jazz-suite for the radio-bigband and some very special guests:

The bigband included:
- Heiner Wiberny, Harald Rosenstein, Olivier Peters, Ralf Romer, Paul Peucker - reeds
- Andy Haderer, Rob Bruynen, Klaus Osterloh, Rick Kiefer, Ruediger Baldorf - trumpets
- Dave Horler, Henning Berg, Bernt Laukamp, Roy Deuvall -trombones
and Paul Shigihara (rhythm guitars), Rainer Brueninghaus (keyboards).

The album was released 1991 in Europe, but could only be officially released in the USA in the fall of 1994. It became very popular one many jazz radio stations in Canada, Germany and the USA.
