Lipstick Logo The kiss of music

Lipstick is a label concentrating on Funk and Jazz with electronic instruments and using rhythms based on rock, latin, funk and hip-hop.

We do not use the terms "fusion" or "contemporary jazz" for this music because they have been abused for marketing background or "elevator" music in recent years.
This is mainly instrumental music and funky modern jazz. Our line-up of stars includes Bill Evans, Adam Holzman (ex- Miles Davis, Michel Petrucciani, Wayne Shorter a.o.) acid-jazz legend Idris Muhammad and the guest musicians on these albums include bassman Marcus Miller, pianist Bob James, singer Chaka Khan, guitarist Mike Stern, pianist Bruce Hornsby, saxophonist David Sanborn as well as keyboarder/producer Jim Beard, who has been nominated for the Grammy-Awards several times. Many US-reviewers use the term "eclectic" for this music - we just think this is great music defying easy classification.
