Dutch girl Masha Bijlsma is one of the best young jazz singers in
Europe. Her first album "Winds Of Change" (on the label "Challenge")
received great reviews - and in 1996 she toured all over northern
Europe as well as playing the well-known "North Sea Jazz Festival" in
Den Haag.
Several tours of the BeNeLux and germany as well as concerts in
London followed. In March 1997 Masha played a great concert in the
USA - at the legendary "South-By-Southwest" festival in
dallas, TX.
She is supported by two established musicians - Jasper Van't Hof (the leader of ethno-popgroup Pili-Pili, who has written several songs for her) and american saxophonist Bob Malach, who not only plays on the album, but has also played many concerts with her.

Masha is a second generation musician. Her father is the drummer Dries Bijlsma, who also plays in her band today. Even when she was in school, she started working with local band - as a bassist and only later as a singer. She went on to study music and worked as a studio singer to earn her living before starting her own career. She is now 25 and has recorded on numerous projects as well as recording her own two solo albums.
