Vibraphonist Stefan Bauer was born in Germany and lives in Canada now, where he is married to an ethiopean. He has performed with many groups worldwide and began integrating african influences into his jazz playing several years ago - before it became fashionable.
On his first album for JAZZLINE (his second album so far) , he has assembled a group of very reputed musicians:
- Mick Goodrick - Gitarre
- Tim Hagans - Trompete
- Adam Nussbaum - Drums
- Jim Vivian - Bass
The album was recorded by well-known jazz engineer David Baker at "Current Sounds" studios, New York in December 1995 and mastered at Sonopress. It was sponsored by canadian broadcaster CBC-Radio.
The album is also a CD Extra with an interactive presentation of Stefan Bauer - with lots of details about the tunes and instruments used as well as biographical material about all the musicians on the album. It also contains a part of this website with a lot of sound bytes and infos.
