Produced by Marco Minnemann and Jörg Umbreit
With their third album, the legendary rock group from Germany has become more focused on Rock than ever before - and is representative of the best in the new wave of progressive rock.
The project of multi-instrumentalist Marco Minnemann, who is also the drummer of crossover-superstars "H-Blockx", and singer Artemis integrates funky rhythms, heavy guitars and many elements of modern rock into a rock style that is both original and appealing to a broader audience.
Marco plays drums, guitars, bass and keyboards on the album - helped by some friends for additional guitars and basses on some tunes. The recordings were done in one of the best studios in Germany - the studio of the H-Blockx themselves.
The lyrics and style are in the tradition of groups like
Missing Persons", "Gentle Giant", "King Crimson", "Queen" and
(of course) the "H-Blockx" - but the strong musical contrasts coupled
with a very powerful singer, polyrhythms and heavy guitars have not
been heard often since the demise of "Queen".
As a little hommage to Queen they even covered "Dead On Time", one of
their songs - but in a very different way that can please even
composer Brian May.
The lyrics are mostly dark and desperate because of recent events
in the bandleader´s life - but still have an optimistic edge,
which is rarely found in music of today. It is perfectly reflected in
the musical arrangements - with Artemis sometimes doubling herself in
warm vocal arrangements.
Even their first two albums ("Thickness" and "Red Alibis") were
successfull - but with the enormous jump in Marco's career as
"H-Blockx´"-drummer this album is a "must have" for every fan of
great rock.
In addition to the music, the first 5.000 copies worldwide are CD-Extras containing a videoclip of the group as Quicktime file which can be played on both Mac's and PC's.
