The musicians:

Born 1960 in the german city Kassel, Schubert is probably one of the greatest saxophone voices of his generation. He delivers raw energy to the limits of the instrument and constantly expands the technical possibilities of his instrument. His music contrasts the separate forms of modern jazz and combines freedom of form with power and complete control of the styles in their various formats. In 1995 he won the coveted yearly award for best jazz talent of german radio station SWF.

The group, consisting of several well-known musicians, performs like one voice and is extremely versatile and entertaining. On the piano we hear Simon Nabatov, one of the top virtuosos of the instruments today, and the rhythm section consists of Tom Rainey (drums) and Lindsay Horner (bass), whos biographies read like a „Who is Who" of modern jazz.

A review of the group:

"This quartet is one of the most creative and powerfull groups in the vibrant new german scene " (Jazzpodium)
